Multimedia Knowledge Laboratory
@ Informatics and Telematics Institute

ITI exhibits substantial research activity in the area of intelligent analysis and access to audiovisual content. It has developed novel content analysis algorithms for content understanding as well as search engines for retrieval of audiovisual content from the World Wide Web (WWW). Current research activities in ITI include multimedia applications for the semantic web, extraction and usage of semantic information (recognition of objects, events, properties and relations) from multimedia data, taking into account the nature of the queries, the users profile, as well as the context and the preexisting knowledge. These activities are related to areas such as content adaptation, content-based coding and multimedia authoring.

The Multimedia Knowledge Laboratory (MKLab) of ITI has succesfully participated in many Natinal and European projects related but not limited to Semantic Web, Image Analysis, Search Engines and Multimedia Authoring applications.

This webpage is dedicated to the On-line Services and Demos offered currently by the Multimedia Knowlegde Lab.
